Tyres can wear out for a number of reasons
Follow these tips for long tyre life
All the new vehicles we supply have new tyres
All tyres are balanced and sealed before they get to us
Tyre pressures are always up for debate
We think 45PSI is right for 18 Inch wheels for most vehicles and thats how your van is
delivered. Air is free !
If don't agree change them !
If you hit a pothole hard or a kerb check the tracking or its likely the tyre will wear unevenly
Excess speed causes premature wear or damage to tyres, the vehicle, the environment and also places others at risk from accident. Slow down !
- We recommend that as soon as you get your vehicle that you have the alignment checked for peace of mind.
Even though in theory the alignment should be 100% we think checking the alignment is a good idea for the future. - Avoid harsh cornering and breaking
- Check tyre pressures weekly - Its inside the fuel flap or online
- Check tyre wear weekly and look for uneven wear that could be a sign that the tracking requires attention
- We often get red faced angry customers shouting at us down the phone us complaining that they have worn their tyres out. after 5- 10 thousand miles. Please don't as this makes about as much sense as you ringing your local takeaway after you have munched down on your Chicken Korma and saying you are still hungry. We cant control how you drive and how fast you wear them out so please do not get angry with Swiss Vans our our team. This is 100% down to you. Be angry with yourself and slow down. Don't be that red faced angry customer blaming others for their own actions.
- Smaller tyres take longer to wear out than larger tyres. e.g a 16 lasts a lot longer than an 18 and 20 and so. Customers tend to drive faster on larger tyres thus the wear out faster. Again SLOW DOWN
